One day my friend Kelsey said to, “You know what would be fun? A cat art show!” and, just like that, Art Right MEOW was born! Kelsey and I are both kitty moms, and cat lovers. Plus, let’s be honest, cats are IN right now! Cat people of the world are no longer hiding in the shadows! They are out there: wearing their cat shirts, sharing their cat videos, and living their best cat lives!
Yesss!!

We are inviting the art world of Orlando to create their best domestic cat art for Art Right MEOW. We’ve also got some cool events and guest participation planned for the the show!
At Pink Hair Productions, we always try to tie-in a give-back element at our events. We like to make it a point to benefit our community. For Art Right MEOW, we’re planning to have a few cat rescues bring kitties, who are looking for forever homes, into the gallery! These are planned for Saturday 8/19 and 9/2. In addition to the Saturday Cat-erday Adoption events, we will be collecting food, collars, and toys for local shelters, throughout the entire event. One of the groups that we are collecting for is Kindness for Cats, Inc. Check them out on their Facebook!
If you’re an artist looking to share your cat art with us, get the call-to-artist info here: https://www.facebook.com/events/686708818181055/ Art drop off begins on 8/14.
Opening night for Art Right MEOW is on Thursday, August 17th at CityArts Factory in the heart of downtown Orlando. August 17th is also National Black Cat Appreciation Day! To celebrate we’ve invited The Black Garter Dolls to join us with a kittycat-themed purrrformace!
The art show will be on display from 8/17 through 9/15. CityArts is open Tuesday- Saturday from 11am to 6pm. Donations for the cat rescues can be left in the gallery. (Look for the Cat box!)
CityArts Factory (link will go to directions) is located in the heart of downtown Orlando. The address is 29 S. Orange Ave. and the entrance is located on the corner of Pine St & Orange Ave. Look for the lovely Mona Lisa.
TIP! If you GPS Cobb Plaza Cinema Café (155 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801) it will take you to the best parking for the gallery. The Plaza is located on one corner of Pine St and Orange Ave and the gallery on the other. Don’t forget to bring your parking ticket – and get it validated at the gallery – for $4 parking at the Plaza garage!
Until then, enjoy this clip from CBS Sunday Morning featuring the traveling cat circus, The AcroCats! I was SUPER excited to see them (as you can see from my reaction in the clip). Yes, I was that cat fangirl! Check them out if they come to your town!
